Not all K24s are the same. This is where buyers get tripped up.
K24A2 (RBB High-Compression):

Do not confuse the K24A2 RBB with a K24Z economy engine. They share displacement but differ significantly in compression ratio, cam profile, and power output.

Which Is Better For...
Daily driving:
K24, without question. More torque from lower RPM means easier driving without working the gears constantly. Better fuel economy too.
Naturally aspirated build:
K20. The shorter stroke, higher redline, and top-end cam character of the K20 make it genuinely special in a built NA application. A K20A with the Type R head and aftermarket cams is still one of the best NA four-cylinders you can build.
Boosted or turbo build:
K24. More displacement means more air to work with, which translates to better turbo response and more power potential per pound of boost. A turbo K24 making 400+ wheel horsepower is a well-documented and relatively straightforward build.
Budget K-swap:
K24Z2 or K24A4. Available, affordable, and reliable. Drop one in and daily it without stress.
Maximum performance swap:
K20A JDM or a K24A2 with a K20 head. The K24 block with K20 head hybrid is a well-known build in the Honda community that gives you both displacement and top-end breathing.
